170 Donkey Trot Trail
The name of the cottage was chosen from the local area that was once called Grapetown. The old one-room school house can still be found a quarter mile up the road. The native Austin Stone Grapetown Gasthaus was hand-crafted by the local artisan. The guest house, located at the end of Donkey Trot Trail, offers scenic seclusion as you enter through the cedar privacy screen. You are welcomed into the Gasthaus by antique doors from a Mexican hacienda. The design of the Grapetown Gasthaus is based on these beautiful unique doors. Its matching partners provide a dramatic entrance to the bedroom suite. The layers of vibrant turquoise, exposed wood, and authentic hardware create an ambiance of rustic charm.
Rose’s favorite pieces are the heirloom metal chair with twisted metal legs gifted by neighbors, and the pair of antique duck drawings flanking the entry to the bedroom. Tim is particularly fond of the stone shower with pebble floor that he personally designed. It features an Austin Stone arch, a rain shower head, and a stained glass window that fills the shower with brilliant sparkling light.
The main living area features a flatscreen TV offering Direct TV service, a comfortable leather loveseat, dining table and kitchen appliances. Keeping with the weathered turquoise design, a unique standalone cabinet houses the Keurig coffeemaker and microwave. The bedroom suite’s queen-sized wrought iron bed is graced by two school house desks repurposed as nightstands. The room is blessed with abundant light and views of the ranch from two windows. As you enter the bath through the sliding barn door, you’ll see that the sink is mounted on a singer sewing machine base. An added item of interest is the beautiful copper heating grate used as a transom window mounted directly into the stone.
Step out and heat up the grill or fire pit, or enjoy the private patio with a view of the pond. Your evening may also include star gazing while relaxing in your own Jacuzzi! Attention to every detail reflects the pride the Innkeepers have in offering private luxury accommodations to their guests.
Oh we forgot, there is one more thing! The patio lounging area and yard is securely fenced to keep the cattle out. Relax, watch the sunset, drink a glass of your complimentary wine, and enjoy all the TimberRose has to offer.
The Grapetown Gasthaus is a one bedroom suite and sleeps two in comfort.
